We know how special it is to be able to get time away, to relax, and make new memories, and hope that The Good Fox is the perfect backdrop for that all for you.
We Are Here To Help: We strive to ensure that all of our guests have an awesome experience at The Good Fox Lakehouse and Cabin. To take the guesswork out of the process for our guests, we will send you an info package and rental agreement after your Airbnb reservation is initiated. The rental agreement will outline the house rules and include tips for preparing for and enjoying your time at The Good Fox Lakehouse and Cabin. During your stay, we are happy to help with any questions and will work to deliver a six star experience.
Respect The Cottage, The Property, and The Neighbours: We love this place like home, and appreciate you treating it as such. Please keep the property interior, exterior, furnishings and equipment in good order. Furnishings or equipment should not be moved unnecessarily during your stay, and should be returned to their original placement by you prior to check out. To maintain the cleanliness of the property, please remove all outdoor shoes when inside. We love our white sofa and want to keep it white. Please do not leave food and drinks out to help avoid attracting animals and bugs. Please be respectful of our neighbours at all time and do not trespass onto their property or shoreline.
Noise: The Good Fox Lakehouse and Cabin are located on a very quiet dead end road, so you can look forward to a peaceful and quiet environment. This not a party spot and we expressly remind guests to keep noise to a minimum at all times and to respect our neighbours. The use of fireworks is not permitted. Huntsville noise by-law prohibits excess noise from 9:00pm to 8:00am. If a noise complaint is received and a fine is issued, you will be responsible for the cost.
Damages: We do our absolute best to ensure the property is in excellent condition for your arrival. However, if you arrive and find something damaged or not functioning, please notify use right away. During your stay, if any furnishings, equipment, items, and/or decor are damaged or not functioning, notify us immediately. If damage is not reported or the guests have been negligent in the care of the property during their stay, a damage charge will be applied.
Excess Guests: Unless agreed to in writing in advance, the maximum number of adults permitted to stay at the property is 10 adults with a maximum of five vehicles to be parked on the property at any time. No unregistered guests are permitted onto the property at any time during your stay, unless agreed to in writing in advance.
Age of Guests: All guests must be at least 30 years of age unless otherwise accompanied by a parent/family member, or agreed to in writing in advance.
Smoking: Smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited inside the property. If you must smoke, please do so at the firepit only and away from the property. You are required to remove any cigarette butts and ashes when you check out. Smoking inside the property will result in an additional cleaning fee of $600.
Pets: Pets are not permitted. Failure to comply will result in your contract being terminated without refund and damages will be payable. We love pets but want to ensure this space is safe for those with allergies and that all furnishings remain in excellent condition for our guests.
Water Safety: Please use common sense and caution around the waterfront and hot tub. There are life jackets in various sizes supplied in the garage, please use life jackets as required. Please check all water equipment before use. Use of waterfront and water equipment is at your own risk. Adult supervision is required at the waterfront for children. The depth of the water off of the dock is not safe for diving. No glass drinkware, glass bottles or other breakable materials are permitted in the waterfront area. Outdoor drinkware is provided, and should be used safely and responsibly.
Check In and Check Out: In order to deliver an exceptional experience to all guests, we require guests to adhere to a strict 10:00am check out time and 4:00pm check in time. This allows the crews preparing the property for our next guest to have enough time to clean and showcase the property to the standard our guests expect. Unless otherwise agreed to in advance, a late check out penalty will be applied.
Housekeeping: We have an amazing cleaning service who will help ensure the property is sparkling clean for your arrival. However, there is no daily housekeeping service and we ask that you maintain the cleanliness of the property during your stay. Household cleaning products are provided in the laundry room. As part of your stay, you will be provided with bedding, bath towels, beach towels, hand towels and kitchen towels. All towels need to be returned upon checkout and should be used with care. Failure to return towels or damage to towels will result in a damage charge. There is a washer and dryer on site for your personal use and detergent is supplied. Only septic safe detergents are permitted.
Before Check Out: Our awesome cleaning crew will arrive promptly after your 10am check out time to do a deep cleaning prior to our next guests arriving. Prior to leaving, please have all dishes cleaned and put away, or all remaining dishes loaded in the dishwasher and turned on. Please have the cottage in a similar condition as to when you arrived, with all interior and exterior furniture and decor returned to their original placement. Since we are frequently welcoming guests back to back on the same day, we have a strict 10:00am check out time to ensure we have enough time to clean and showcase the property to the standard our guests expect. If you check out later than 10am and this prevents the cleaning team from accessing the property on time, a late check out penalty will be applied.
Garbage/Recycling Collection: Garbage is to be placed in black bags and recycling is to be placed in clear/blue bags. Garbage bags and recycling bags can be placed in the corresponding bins in the garage. Garbage and recycling should not be excessive or an additional fee will be charged for disposal. We remind you not to leave garbage and food outside as it will attract animals and bugs.
Fire and Fire Safety: Campfires must adhere to posted municipal burn restrictions. Campfires must take place in the designated bonfire pit. No open fires are allowed. Only firewood should be burned in the designated bonfire pit. Please bring your own firewood for the fire pit and wood burning fireplace. The BBQ has a dedicated propane line. Operators must ensure that the propane line is closed off when not in use. Please clean the grill after each use, and empty the grease tray at the end of your stay. Fire extinguishers are provided on all levels of the property, as well as in the kitchen, in The Cabin, and in the garage. Please familiarize yourself with the location of the fire extinguishers and proper use upon arrival.
Water and Septic: The cottage is on septic and lake line. The property has a robust water purification system (UV filter, sediment filter, and chlorination) which allows for safe and potable drinking water. While most guests happily enjoy drinking the water with meals just as they do while brushing teeth and during showers, some guests opt to bring their own bottled water for regular consumption as rural water away from home can have the potential to disagree with our bodies no matter how well cleaned and purified. We support whatever your choice may be. The mineral content in the water is high, so you may notice the water having a slight tint at times. As with all septic systems, nothing other than toilet paper can be flushed. Do not flush baby wipes, tissues, paper towels, or feminine products. If it is found that a clog in the septic system occurs due to improper usage, you could be held responsible for damages.
Access: Guests will have access to the entire property with the exception of a locked storage area in the garage and walk out level. Guests shall allow the homeowner's representative access to the property for purposes of repair and maintenance. We have a gardening and lawn maintenance crew that could arrive at some point during your stay to quickly and diligently work on the grounds to keep it looking great while you enjoy your time at The Good Fox.
Monitoring: To help us monitor the property when it is not in use, there is one security camera on the driveway pointing towards the road/driveway, and one doorbell video camera. This exterior video footage is unmonitored and in no way infringes upon our guest's expectations of privacy within the public areas of the property. Access is limited to only incidents or complaint.
